Fantasy Football Week 4 Sleepers: Unearthing Hidden Gems for Your Lineup
Week 4 of the NFL season is upon us, and for fantasy football managers, that means it’s time to scour the waiver wire and identify potential sleepers who can deliver unexpected points. Injuries, bye weeks, and evolving team dynamics create opportunities for undervalued players to shine. This week, we’re focusing on players poised to exceed expectations based on matchups, usage, and overall opportunity.
Quarterback Sleeper: Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts
While not exactly a deep sleeper, Gardner Minshew offers sneaky potential this week. With Anthony Richardson’s status uncertain, Minshew could be in line for another start against a Los Angeles Rams defense that, while improved, can still be exploited through the air. Minshew has shown the ability to distribute the ball effectively and isn’t afraid to take risks. If he starts, he’s a viable streaming option for managers in deeper leagues or those dealing with quarterback injuries or bye weeks. His connection with Michael Pittman Jr. could be key.
Running Back Sleeper: Tyjae Spears, Tennessee Titans
Even with Derrick Henry as the established bellcow, Tyjae Spears is increasingly demonstrating his value as a change-of-pace back and pass-catching threat. The Titans’ offense needs a spark, and Spears’ explosiveness could provide it. Keep an eye on his usage in the passing game, as that’s where he can truly shine in PPR formats. If Henry were to miss time, Spears’ upside would skyrocket, but even as a complementary piece, he has the potential to outperform his ADP.
Wide Receiver Sleeper: Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans Saints
Rashid Shaheed’s speed and big-play ability make him an intriguing sleeper candidate. He’s demonstrated a knack for getting open deep and has the trust of quarterback Derek Carr. The Saints offense is still finding its identity, but Shaheed’s role seems to be expanding each week. While his targets may be inconsistent, his ability to turn a single reception into a long touchdown makes him a boom-or-bust option with considerable upside. He’s a great option for those who need a potential home-run hitter in their flex spot or as a WR3.
Tight End Sleeper: Luke Musgrave, Green Bay Packers
Luke Musgrave is developing into a reliable target for Jordan Love. He is seeing consistent snaps, and the Packers are clearly trying to get him involved in the passing game. While the tight end position is notoriously volatile for fantasy, Musgrave offers a higher floor than many other options due to his consistent usage. He has a good opportunity for a breakout performance in week 4 and beyond. Look for him to continue developing as a safety valve for Love.
Remember to monitor injury reports and starting lineups before making your final decisions. Good luck in Week 4!
