Lunch was a hurried sandwich devoured while fielding calls about the upcoming tribal council meeting. The weight of responsibility, of preserving our heritage, pressed heavily on me. Later, volunteering at the community center, I saw the same determination etched on the faces of the youth, proudly sporting their “Official Native Americas Tribune” sweaters. It was a reminder that despite the chaos, the fight for our future, for our voice, continues, woven into the fabric of our lives and symbolized in every thread of these garments.
